money raised will be used to replace the pipes around the pool. Children ages 5 thru 17
years may participate. Lap pledge envelopes are available at the front office today. The
Lap-a-rhon will be open to all children and no participation fee will be charged. Young
children will swim across the pool and older children will swim the length. Donors may
pledge a flat rate or an amount per lap. Flippers may be worn for this event.
Our local Jackson County businesses have very generously offered to donate some top
prizes to encourage our youth to participate in supporting their community pool. 1st prize
will be for most money collected, 2nd prize will be for most laps swam and 3rd prize will
be for best effort. The entrants will be divided in two groups by age and ability.
Lap Times to swim are as follows: 9 a..m to 10:30 a.m. / 5yrs to 8yrs; 10:30a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / 9 yrs to 12yrs and 3:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. /13 yrs to 17yrs. The date set is Saturday, July 16. Participants and their families are invited to attend a free Open Swim Potluck & Awards
Ceremony that evening from 5:00-7:30p.m.
