Open house on Hwy. 140 corridor plan, July 25

The public is invited to share their vision of needed transportation improvements along Oregon 140 from Central Point to east of White City. An open house for the Oregon 140 Corridor Plan is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jackson County Parks Auditorium, 7520 Table Rock Road.

The Oregon 140 Corridor Plan is a one-year study that provides the Oregon Department of Transportation with specific highway improvement projects for the future.

Much of the Oregon 140 corridor from Interstate 5 exit 35 to White City is under ODOT jurisdiction following a road exchange with Jackson County in 2009 that included portions of Blackwell and Kirtland Roads, Pacific Avenue, Avenue G, Agate Road and Leigh Way.

“Public input can cover a wide range of improvements, such as intersection safety, the local road network and driveway consolidation,” said ODOT Planner Tom Guevara.

A Spanish-language translator will attend open house to assist Spanish-speaking residents. ODOT attempts to hold all public meetings in accessible buildings. Accommodations are provided to persons with disabilities. Alternate formats are available upon request. If a sign language interpreter is needed, call Christie Meacham at (541) 957-3698 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
