Ronnell Loy Draper

Ronell Loy Draper, 74, of Shady Cove passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 25, 2011 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Ron was born Oct. 25, 1936 to Erastus Almon Draper and Linnie Adell Draper (Seguine). He was the youngest of 10 children born in Provo, Utah. He was raised in So.California, where he met his wife, Betty. They married on Dec 2,1962, and they moved to Sylmar, Calif. In 1978 Ron, Betty, and three daughters moved to So. Oregon.

Ron attended Trail Christian Fellowship, and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He served four years on the State Board of Dry Cleaners (appointed by Gov. Ronald Reagan) and was President of the Kiwanis Club in So. California. Throughout his life he was self employed. During the time he owned the Bella Capri Italian Restaurant in So. CA, Draper Construction, Ponderosa Pizza in Shady Cove, and Draper Transplant.

He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, horseback riding, snow and water skiing, rafting, boating, car/motorcycle racing, and ATV riding. But most of all… making peopke laugh. All of these things he enjoyed doing with his beloved family and friends.

Ron was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, granddad, great granddeedeo and the ROCK of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Betty: five children, Danial Draper of Lemoore, CA, Ronell Draper of Paso Robles, CA, Pamela Draper of Trail, OR, Kimberly Maurer of Kenai, Alaska, Cindy O’Hara of Grants Pass, OR., Eight grandchildren; Daniel, Amanda, Joe, Brianna, Rose, Ryan, Amy, Nikolas, three great grandchildren, Trevor, Karrlee, and Peyton, one sister of Hemet, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eight siblings, One granddaughter, Misty , and his beloved horse “The Bro”.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m.  Saturday June 4, 2011 at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Hwy 62. A celebration of life will be held at Rogue River Lodge immediately following the service.
