Two are tops at middle school track, two records set

Eighth graders Hope Cruz and Kyle Hale placed first at the 13 team Southern Oregon Middle School Athletic Conference district track meet.

Cruz put the shot 32’5″ and has been undefeated in the shot the entire school year.

Hale put the shot 41’3/4″ and has been undefeated for the past two years. His best put of 46’9″ is a new school record. Ninety-four boys and girls completed the 10-week track season.

Neff Clark- 3rd- 100 meter-12.24, 5th-200 meter-25.78; long jump 5th- 17’3″; Hayden Moreau-6th-200 meters-26.24; Hayden Carver-4th-800 meter- 2:21; Jason Higgison- 10th-800 meter-2:28; Nathan Panagos- 6th-1500 meter-5:07; Trace Helvey-11th-3000 meters-12:07.

Tristen Bennett-7th-200 hurdles-31.21; Kyle Hale-1st shot put-41’7, 5th discus- 104’7″; Jacob Eddings-7th-shot put- 24’8″; David Barber-2nd-High Jump- 5’2″; Moroni Beal-8th-High Jump-4’11”

Long relay-4th place-4 mins. 13 sec and short relay- 3rd place-50.68.

8th grade girls:
Hope Cruz-1st shot put-32’1″, 3rd- High Jump-4’8″ (school record); Suydney May- 7th Long Jump- 13’8″.

Short relay-6th-58.37.

7th grade boys:
Kevin Vandyke-7th-1500 meters-5.06; Alex Thornton-8th-3000 meters- 12.52 and Tyler Herzog-3rd-shot put-36’10” (school record).

7th grade girls:
Sariah Beal-7th-1500 meter-6.13, 8th- High Jump -3’11″; Shoshawna Hoeptner-4th-High Jump- 4’2″; Lexi Kaiser-6th- Long Jump-12’8 3/4″ ; Hannah McLane-3rd- shot put-30’4″; Jadyn Chisem-Moran-6th Discus-57’5″, 8th-Shot Put-27′ 9″; Hannah McCoy-5th-3000-13.32 and Kacie Mallory-7th- 14.22.
