Avada Ann” Griffith

Avada “Ann” Griffith, 76, a resident of Shady Cove since 1978, passed away on July 4, 2011 in Island Park, Idaho while visiting for the summer season. She was born to Roy Lee Elderton and Calsie Jean Mildred Nelson on June 7, 1935 in Westwood, California.

She grew up in California where she met and married her soul mate and best friend, James Cary Griffith on June 20, 1953. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1968 where they both worked at the Idaho National Laboratory; Jim as a drafting supervisor and Ann in engineering document control. They later moved to Shady Cove where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Medford Red Lion Inn until her retirement.
Ann was a loving mother and grandmother and had many friends. She loved the outdoors and was an avid angler. She had a wonderful sense and humor and provided a lot of fond and funny memories for her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; sons, Daniel (LuAnn) Griffith of Spokane, Wash., David (Jacki) Griffith of Idaho Falls; daughter, Lorrie (Craig) Robb of Idaho Falls; brother, Ron (Deborah) Elderton of Festus, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jeannine Schoen.
