Josephine (Hume) Carrell

Josephine (Joey) (Hume) Carrell died June 21, 2011, following a three-year battle with cancer.

She was born July 24, 1943, in Vallejo, Calif., to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Harding) Hume.

She had a long and successful career as a professional bookkeeper and spent 12 years with the V.A. Domiciliary in White City. She graduated from Eagle Point High School in 1961, and attended Southern Oregon College in the early 1960s.

She married the love of her life, Kenneth Carrell, on Sept, 16, 1963. She loved to read and play with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Left to celebrate her life is her husband of 48 years, Kenneth J. Carrell, two daughters, Kymberlye (Marlon) Hinton, Shady Cove and Krystal Carrell, Trail; a twin sister, Jacqueline (Larry) Smith, Trail; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Shady Cove Assembly of God Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson County Humane Society.
