Medford Police Lieutenant Tim Doney will be promoted to Deputy Chief on July 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the Medford City Hall Council chambers.
Doney has been with the Medford Police Department for 23 years. During his time at MPD, he has worked as a patrol officer, field training officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Tim’s most recent assignment has been to lead MADGE (Medford Area Drug & Gang Enforcement) since its inception in 2008.
Doney grew up in Shady Cove and is a 1984 graduate of Eagle Point High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Corban College in Business Administration, and graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2008. He is married with three adult children. Tim is being promoted into the vacancy left by Tim George’s promotion to Chief of Police. The department is currently conducting a promotion process for Lieutenant.
