Search & Rescue combs Applegate area for missing man

{gallery}/06_28_11/houston{/gallery}The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team is actively searching for a missing Klamath Falls man. On Thursday, June 30, 2011 Steven Houston, 12-22-40 of Klamath Falls, dropped his wife off at the Rogue Valley Mall and told her he would be gone most of the day. His plans were to head towards the hills in Jacksonville to find a logging area where his father worked while Houston was a child. Houston has made several attempts in the past to find this old logging site.

When phone calls to Houston went unanswered and he failed to pick up his wife, family and friends became worried and called 9-1-1. Crews began searching for Houston last night and were unsuccessful. Beginning this morning, Friday July 1, 2011 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office resumed the search for Steven Houston. Several groups are currently combing roads in the Applegate area searching for any signs of him.

Steven Houston is described as a white male, about 5’10”, weighs about 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black and white shirt and jeans. Houston is driving a brown, 2004 Chevy pickup truck with a quad in the back of the truck.
