Arnold The Clown to Appear at Prospect Timber Carnival

The Prospect Timber Carnival is proud to have Arnold The Clown appearing again this year at the August 20th festivities. Arnold, also known as Steve Bartow of Grants Pass has been performing as a lumberjack clown for over 35 years. He climbs the 75′  spar pole and dances, juggles and balances himself on the top. He has traveled all over the world to places such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and of course the United States with his clown act.

Safety is crucial.  Underneath his costume is a harness, attached to wires with backups in case something fails. His wife Kathy also plays a role in his act.

Also appearing, with his father, is World Champion Speed Climber Brian Bartow of Lake Oswego. Brian, formally of Grants Pass,  is the four time ESPN Great Outdoor Games gold medalist, seven time 90′ world champion and two time Stihl Timbersports Series Champion.

Brian has traveled all over the world performing in Timber Carnivals and Logging competitions for 16 years.  Brian first performed at the Prospect Timber Carnival at the age of 6.  He learned to climb from his father. Brian started competing professionally at age 16, and has been able to help finance his college tuition thru the years with winnings from his speed climb wins.

The Prospect Jamboree and Timber Carnival is August 20th at Lions Park in Prospect.   Admission is $5.00 and just $2.00 for kids under 12.  The Timber Carnival begins at noon.  See our website at or call Liz Steward for more information at 560-3793.
