If you like dancing then you need to be in Eagle Point on Aug. 13, because Eagle Point will be Dancing in the Streets! You and all your friends and relations are invited to enjoy a good old-fashioned gathering on Main Street. It all begins at 2 p.m. and continues until 9:30 p.m. Main Street from Platt to Royal will be blocked off for the event.
They are still seeking all types of art that can be done on the spot–from rattle can to charcoal, pencil, watercolor– it can be done by the youngest to the oldest. Artists can sell their work but in lieu of an entry fee, give the city a piece of art. Then from 5-7:30 p.m. The Butcher Shop will have hot dogs for $3, hamburgers for $5. Both include chips and a drink, Proceeds will go to Boy Scout Troop 48.
Jim Lane and the Renegades will play danceable music from 7-9:30 p.m. And for those a bit bashful about getting out on Main St. and dancing, there will be a dance coach offering free line dance lessons. Tanya DeHart from Evergreen Ballroom will do the teaching honors.
The Butcher Shop is donating sidewalk chalk and fingerpainting supplies for the kids.
