“Paradise Island” is the theme for the 11th annual D-9 Foundation benefit weekend. Events begin at Arthur’s Saturday, Sept. 10 with a social hour from 5:30-6:30 p.m., that includes complimentary wine and beer and the traditional diamond event, as well as the silent auction.
Dinner gets under way around 6:30 p.m. followed by the oral auction. There are some 31 items in the oral auction. The first item has become a popular one. The high bidder of that item gets to be first in line for dinner. It is a prize worth bidding on.
Have you ever seen a remote controlled beer can, full of beer and wine? There is one waiting for the top bid. Landscaping, a gun or two or a guided snowmobile ride and lunch featuring four hour trip around Lake of the Woods-Fish Lake. Other items include BBQs, resort stays, opportunity to name the scholarship presented this coming spring, and there is an opportunity to donate to the D9 Scholarship Fund. These are a few of the items J.B. Dimick will be auctioning this Saturday.
During the social hour there will be nearly 30 items set out seeking the highest bidder. Flowers, jewelry, gift baskets, the assortment is wide and exciting.

Sunday morning is the 12th annual golf tournament, at the Eagle Point Golf Club. Tee time is 9 a.m.
