If you are one of the multitude planning to shop the day after Thanksgiving, Santa would like to suggest you include an item or two for his special store in Eagle Point. Cash donations from which Santa’s elves will shop or purchase gift certificates are also appreciated. .
Santa’s Shop will open Dec. 10 for the second year in the Judge Stewart House across from the bank in downtown Eagle Point. The shop provides an opportunity for adults and children with limited means to Christmas shop and donate whatever they can afford. Gifts may also be wrapped at no charge.
Volunteers are still needed to set up, man the shop and tear down. Set up and moving donated merchandise in will begin on Monday, Nov. 28. There will be some shelving to re-assemble, items that have been donated are at the Independent office and in a small trailer not far from the Judge Stewart location. If you can donate set up and/or tear down time (the week after Christmas) and/or volunteer a couple of hours during the hours the store is open, please call the Upper Rogue Independent at 541-826-7700. The store opens to the public on Dec. 10 and is open Monday through Friday through Dec. 21, from 10-a.m. 4 p.m.
This is a project of your Eagle Point/Upper Rogue Chamber of Commerce.
