Helen Elizabeth Brown, 86, passed away November 22, 2011, with her family by her side. She was born May 2, 1925, to Lloyd and Elsie Wilson, in the family home in Eagle Point, Ore.
Helen lived in the Rogue Valley all but the last six years of her life, and she had many friends and loved ones here. She held many jobs over the years, but spent most of her life packing pears at Southern Oregon Sales, where she earned awards for “fastest packer” over and over again. She always referred to the crew there as her “other family.” When she retired in 1995, she took up walking.
You can find an article in the Medford Mail Tribune dated 1/8/2003 about her adventures walking in Phoenix.
Helen is survived by her son, Barry C. (Carrie) Brown; daughter, Sally R. (Garry) Brown; stepson, Roy F. (Gracie) Brown; grandchildren, Rachel, Benjamin, Krystal, Wyatt, Jerry, Robert, Pamela, and Todd; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert F. Brown.
A memorial service was held Dec. 3, at Central Point Conger Morris.
