Melvin “Salty” Saltmarsh

Melvin Saltmarsh died Jan. 10, 2012. He was born Aug. 30, 1937.

Melvin was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a well known river guide for many years. He was an outfitter and a founding member and past president of the Rogue River Guides Association. He was a past member of the Little Butte Mountain men and enjoyed going to rendezvous.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sister, Hazel (Mimmie) Ratty; two sons, Mark and Jeff Saltmarsh, daughter-on-law, Kelly Saltmarsh, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held Jan. 22 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send donations in his name to Wildlife Image in Grants Pass.
