Virginia “Ginnie” Browns, 84, of Medford died Jan. 4, 2012 at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She was born to Fred and Mary Dame on Dec. 28, 1927, in Oakland, Calif.
Ginnie and her parents moved to the Grants Pass area in 1941. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1947. In 1952, she and her husband, R.B., moved to the Medford area.
She loved taking care of her family, cooking, golf, traveling and spending winters in Palm Desert, Calif. Ginnie belonged to the Rogue Valley Country Club Lady Golfers and to Quail Point Lady Golfers.
Ginnie is survived by her husband, R.B. Browns, of Medford; children, Jeff (Cyndi) Browns, of Central Point, Bruce (Valerie) Browns, of Medford, Vicki (Gary) Brookins, of Eagle Point and Kathie (Harvey) Woods, of Medford, 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Ginnie’s name would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1650 NW Naito Parkway, Suite 190. Portland, OR 97209. A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon Saturday, Jan. 21 at 5758 Crater Lake Ave., Medford.
