Bomb squad checks chemical device in EP

At 7:30 pm a witness observed a dark colored midsized pickup with two male subjects inside, park near the intersection of N Royal Avenue and E. Archwood.  The driver handed the passenger a can and the passenger left the vehicle and placed the can on the sidewalk and re-enter the pickup and leave the area.

The witness saw smoke coming from the can and called the police. EPPD arrived in scene and noticed the can was emitting a smoke like vapor and the area was sealed off. OSP bomb squad was summoned and arrived and deactivated the device.  The device was described as a homemade chemical device that can be made in the home from household chemicals. Household chemicals can be combined in a container and the chemicals can create heat and pressure and can be dangerous.
