Brian A. Nelson, 59, of Eagle Point, died Feb. 2, 2012, at Rogue Valley Medical Center, from injuries sustained in an accident on Jan. 17, 2012.
He was born in Portland on Apr. 5, 1952, to William E. and Dorothy Felt Nelson.
Brian was a kind hearted compassionate man. He was a choral singer and sang with the Rogue Valley Chorale, Southern Oregon Repertory Singers and Jefferson Baroque Orchestra.
He was a journeyman electrician, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for 35 years and was active in their apprentice program. He was a very knowledgeable and instrumental influence for many people in his 35 years of dedicated service. He volunteered many hours of his time on various IBEW committees to better the lives of all involved.
He was a devoted father, husband and best friend. Brian enjoyed many outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, hiking, kayaking and working in the garden. He lived his entire life in Oregon.
His presence here will never be forgotten. Brian is survived by his wife, Melody Byrnum-Nelson; son, Mark A. Nelson; brothers, Craig Nelson and William E. Nelson Jr; and granddaughters, Madison and Jaelyn Nelson,
A memorial service was held Feb. 11, at the Medford Congregational United Church of Christ.
