Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk

Make the right play to save your life and others.

On Super Bowl Sunday, the Medford Police Department teamed up with the Oregon State Police, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Talent Police Department and Eagle Point Police Department to conduct a high visibility D.U.I.I. saturation patrol.  The involved officers focused their enforcement efforts to the City of Medford.  This operation resulted in the following;

·    5 driving under the influence of intoxicants arrests
·    4 drug arrests
·    3 warrant arrests
·    5 citations for driving while suspended
·    4 citations for driving uninsured
·    28 citations for miscellaneous traffic violations

The involved agencies will be participating in future saturation patrols in Jackson County, in hopes this type of high visibility enforcement will serve as a deterrent to those who would consider drinking and driving.  The participating agencies not only want to remove impaired drivers from the roadway, but want people to think twice before drinking and driving.  Our goal is to make the roadways safer for everyone.
