EP Tree City USA for 20 years straight

The City of Eagle Point has reached a milestone, it has been a Tree City of 20 years in a row.

On April, 3, Arbor Day the Oregon Dept. of Forestry presented Mayor Bob Russell with a banner and an award.  20 years is a benchmark that only 54 other Oregon communities share.

Tree City USA is an important symbol that recognizes a city’s commitment to tree appreciation and tree care. A sign that the community cares about its livability and recognizes the important contributions that trees make to the quality of life in our cities.

Each year on Arbor Day the City of Eagle Point plant at least one new tree in the community. This year the planted a new tree in Little Butte Creek Park, a Flowering Cherry tree dedicated to our sister city of Showa Mura, Japan.
