Lendel “Lenny” K. Buttram 75, died April 3, 2012.
With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather,
Uncle and Friend.
Lenny was born on July 11, 1937 in Prineville, Mo. to Wayne Buttram and Gladys Greene- Buttram. Lenny was raised in Shady Cove, Or. He lived in the Portland area for the last 29 years.
Lenny married his wife Loretta on Feb. 18, 1984, in Shady Cove.
He was a professional boxer from 1956-1974 where he held the title of class B Middleweight of the Northwest. He was a Boilermaker at the Swan Island shipyards and after retiring from the shipyards, he went on to manage apartments until 2005.
He enjoyed bass fishing, playing his guitar and singing , weightlifting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lenny passed away at The Gardens Enhanced Care Facility in Forest Grove, due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease with his wife Loretta and daughters Melissa and Mallea by his side.
He was proceeded in death by his father Wayne Buttram, Shady Cove; step- mother Babe Buttram, Shady Cove; mother Gladys Greene Cordova of Albuquerque, NM.; brother Haydon Peyton, Kirkland,Wa., sisters Deanie Esch, Huntsville, AL, Tiny Kirkpatrick of Sunnyvale, Ca., and Oddie Denman of Carthage, Mo.
Survivors include: wife Loretta Buttram of Greshamm OR; daughters Melissa Goddard, Erwin, Tenn.; Mallea Johnson, Gresham, Or; Michelle Martin of Tucson, Ariz and Amber Radebaugh- Buttram of White City; sons Randy Cannon, Sacramento, Ca., Russell Buttram, Japan; sister Sandra Watson, Central Point; Uncle Trudy Buttram, Shady Cove; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
There will be no memorial services at this time.
