Now in its 30th year of operation in Bend, the company offers its customer a one-of-a-kind shopping experience specializing in European brands. In addition, the company will co-locate their Carrera Collection rental car service allowing customers to rent upscale automobiles for a variety of occasions. According to Dan Horton, President of Carrera Motors, they have “found success with the Carrera Collection in two ways in that customers can utilize the Carrera Collection in order to find their dream car, prior to a final purchase.”
The company has signed a long term lease and will complete its facility renovation in the next few weeks, making an investment of nearly $500,000 in the facility and service equipment. Local contractors and professional service providers were used in the expansion.
Upon its opening, Carrera will employ 12 at the Medford location. Carrera Motors Chairman, Tom Anderson, reports “We have had such great support from our Southern Oregon customers for the last 30 years that we’re excited to offer them everything they have come to expect from our Bend Location, just a little closer to home.”
Anderson contacted SOREDI in August 2010 for regional demographics and applicable information and incentives that might be relative to their business expansion in Jackson County. Colleen Padilla, Business Development Manager for SOREDI, comments that “although Carrera is not the typical traded-sector company which is the focus of SOREDI’s recruitment strategy, the company represents a significant investment in Jackson County and creates 12 new good paying jobs in the region, including several highly trained auto technician positions.”
