William T. (Tom) Scriven, 78, died, Monday, April 9, 2012.
Tom was born May 13, 1933 in Medford, Oregon to Dee and Grace Scriven. In 1954 he married Virginia Stentson and was married for 35 yrs.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoors man. He loved to walk, hike and was
a very Christian man.
Tom was in the US Navy. He worked at the lumber mills, US Forest Service, Rogue River National Forest and Prospect and Butte Falls Ranger Stations. He was an officer of the Salvation Army, a volunteer at Prospect Fire Dept., an EMT, and volunteer for church services and civic organizations. Tom also received civic and professional awards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Delbert, and Edward; sisters June and Florence.
He is survived by sister, Bonnie Bobot, brother Ben (June) Scriven, four sons Rick, Mike, Greg and Wayne. His grandchildren JessieAnn, Misty, Nathan, 2nd Lieutenant William Scriven, DeMarcus, Diamond, Melissa, Jace, Kristina and Racheal, many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
A service was held at the Prospect Church of the Nazarene.
