Joyce Kathleen (Funk) Lynch died May 4, 2012 at Providence Hospital. She was born May 9, 1924 in El Centro, Calif., to Hubert and Estelle Coomes. She grew up in California, graduating from Marywood High School in Anaheim, Calif. In 1942, Joyce married Orris Funk, in Newport Beach, Calif.
She worked in various fields including waitressing, electronic manufacturing as well as medical billing and collection. But her greatest joy was job as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She and Orris were active in the Roman Catholic Church and were early members of the Square Riggers Square Dance Club. They camped and traveled extensively round the country and internationally with Square Riggers members. After several trips across the country and to a number of foreign countries, they retired and moved to Shady Cove in 1988. They were married 57 years before Orris died in 1999. Joyce married Bert Lynch and they continued the traveling lifestyle.
She lived on her own in her beloved home on the Rogue River in Shady Cove until her death, surrounded by the love of her daughters.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Wehrli (Carl), Palm Desert, Calif., Peggy Jahnke (Glen), Gold Hill and Connie Dolinshek (Michael), Grass Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dena J. Funk and husbands, Orris Funk and Elbert Lynch.
The service for Joyce Lynch was held May 9, 2012 at Perl Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 56 Williams Lane, Shady Cove, Ore.97539 or to the So. Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Rd., Central Point, OR. 97502.
