The White City branch of the Rogue Valley Boys & Girls Clubs is offering extended program hours for students affected by the District 9 strike. Hours will extend from 7:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The school district will provide bus service for pupils who attend Mountain View and White City Elementary Schools and wish to use the club. The bus will take Mountain View pupils from the club to school at 11:45 a.m. for their afternoon school session. The bus will bring White City pupils to the club at 12:15 p.m., after their morning school session ends. The bus also will take participating Mountain View pupils from school to the club at 4 p.m., when their school day ends.
All children ages 6 to 18 are eligible to use the club. Those who are not already members will be asked to pay a one-time $25 fee that is good for admission through August, the end of the club’s program year.
The club offers a 4,500 square foot building with an arts and crafts room, tech center, leadership room, teen room, and game room. Outdoors there is a playground, basketball court, grass playfield, sand volleyball court, and multi-purpose covered area. Programs and activities focus on five core areas including the arts; sports, fitness and recreation; character and leadership; education and career development; and health and life skills.
