Rodney H. Erickson

Our beloved father Rodney H. Erickson passed away Sunday, Aug. 26 after battling cancer for over a year. He defied the limits placed on his life expectancy, fighting to remain with his family as long as he was able.

Rodney, the youngest of three sons, was born to Darlene and Ernest Erickson March 21, 1950 in Sioux Falls S. D. After moving from South Dakota, Rodney spent his childhood growing up in Nebraska and California.

1n 1977, he and his family moved to Eagle Point from California after Rodney received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from San Francisco State University. He established his business as a CPA in 1978 in Eagle Point. Throughout the years, he built strong and lasting relationships with the community, both through his career and through his involvement with community events. Rodney continued working a local business owner until his retirement in June.

An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, Rodney found his true home in Southern Oregon, embracing the lifestyle of country living and outdoor activities.

Rodney was a man who was loved not only by his family and friends, but also my many members of his community. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and his much admired beautiful and bright blue eyes.

Rodney is survived by three daughters, one son, and eight grandchildren. A memorial service was held Oct. 27 at St. John’s Church, Eagle Point.

Charitable donations can be sent to St. Jude’s Research Hospital to help increase the survival rate of children with cancer. There is a memorial fund set up in Rodney’s name at
