Eagle Point FFA activity report

I am proud to say that the Dinner and Auction the Eagle Point FFA hosted on Saturday Dec. 8 went very well. Thanks to the auction committee, FFA members, and the supportive community members and businesses, the auction was a great success for the Eagle Point FFA Chapter. We raised over $22,000 and about $3,200 went toward the scholarships for senior FFA members graduating in 2013. It was because of all the help and support we got that we almost broke the record, in terms of how much we raised. Overall, this auction was a fun and exciting event.

On Monday Dec. 10, seventeen Greenhands (freshman or first year members) and four FFA officers went to Phoenix High School for the annual Greenhand Social event. This is a time for the newcomers in the FFA to learn what it’s all about. While having fun and playing games we learned about leadership, teamwork, decision making, communication skills, and working hard to help others and the community. We also learned about the FFA Creed, Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), and Career Development Events (CDEs). It was a great opportunity for the
