Former Eagle Point resident, Steven Ray Seagoe, 57, died January 23, 2013, at the home of his sister, also of Eagle Point. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 2, at New Beginnings Church, located at 5889 Highway 62, Central Point, at 10:00 a.m. A meal will follow the service which has been generously donated by Sherm’s Thunderbird Market.
Steve was born on September 17, 1955, to Elsie V. Lee of Grants Pass. At two years old he was adopted by Elsie’s husband, Thomas W. Seagoe, also of Grants Pass. The family moved to the Eagle Point area around 1960. A graduate of Eagle Point High School in 1973.
Steve pursued a life-long career in the grocery industry; primarily employed with Sherm’s Thunderbird Market, until December of 2012.
An avid outdoorsman; Steve was always found exploring in the woods, fishing, hunting at the cabin, or spending time with his animals. He was also an amazing gardener who enjoyed cooking and sharing his bounty.
Steve’s faith in Jesus Christ increased throughout his life through both joy and hardships; most recently during his 9 year battle with cancer. Steve is survived by his four sisters; Linda Phillips (Steve); Sandra Barrett; Sharon Bateman (Mike); and Deanne Lawrence (Chris). He also leaves behind his best friend, Dave Hood, who is considered a brother. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews, and many other extended family members. Later in life Steve became acquainted with three additional siblings; Steve Parmelee, Marcia Ramsey, and Julie Warrington.
