Sutherlin was the first to draw blood in their loss to Eagle Point on March 15. Sutherlin may have scored first, but the Eagles came back in the bottom half of the fourth to grab the lead with four runs of their own to take the lead they would not relinquish. They added to the lead with two more in the fifth and then another two in the sixth. Sutherlin added one in their half the fifth, but were unable to mount a challenge.

Both teams recorded six hits, but Sutherlin added three errors in dropping the contest.

The Eagles Brandon Wilson allowed three hits while striking out five and giving up just one earned run. Wilson was the first of three Eagles pitchers. Wilson was followed by Sattler and Nate Brammer, who was the closer.

Lucas Morris, Zach Merteen and Justin Hughes all had RBI singles, Hughes drove in two in the sixth.
