The Commissioner’s public meeting was called to order and began with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a moment of silence in honor of the loss our Country recently experienced in Boston.
The commissioners unanimously approved three items:
First on the agenda for approval was a “memorandum of understanding” (MOU) with the American Red Cross to list and define cooperative actions with Jackson County’s Emergency Management. In the case of an emergency, the County provides the Padgham Pavilion building at the EXPO as the primary shelter. This will be a five-year agreement.
Another five-year agreement was approved to manage the public parking facility at the Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport. The agreement is an expense of $949,321 over the five-year span, and is with Standard Parking Corporation.
The last order of business was an approval for a three-year agreement with Presidio (DBA- INX, Inc.) for protection services against cyber-criminal activity. These threats, the Administrator presented, are inherent in the County’s use of the Internet to conduct business. The three-year contract would allow the county to retain these services at the same locked-in price of $1,270.75 per month and is accounted for in the IT department’s budget.
It was announced following the meeting if citizens have comments or questions regarding the recent budget hearings, please direct them to the commissioners: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org
