Plans for the annual Eagle Point Community Association 4th of July celebration are complete. The festivities will be held on Thursday, July 4th. The “Avenue of the Flags” will be on display. Stan Deupree, renowned auctioneer and long time community event supporter will serve as Grand Marshal of the parade.
This year’s theme is “Made in America”. Leon Sherman will serve as Master of Ceremonies and announcer for the 11:00 am parade. Local recording artist, Frank Ricci, will perform both downtown and at the Fireworks Show.
The celebration begins at 7:00 a.m., with the annual breakfast at the EP Grange, and concludes with a spectacular fireworks show in the EPHS football stadium. Other events throughout the day include the 1 mile and 5km Betty Ann Marlia Memorial Run, vendor booths, a dime toss booth, karaoke and skydiver “paper plate bingo”, sponsored by the EP Lion’s Club, at the fireworks halftime show.
Sponsorships are desperately needed for the Fun Run and Fireworks show! Run sponsorships are $75, and include representation on this year’s commemorative t-shirts. Fireworks shells may be purchased for any donation amount, and include a personalized launch narrative. Donations of $75 (individual), or $100 (business) include an event t-shirt.
Entry forms for the various events are available at the City Hall, and on-line at www.cityofeaglepoint.org. T-shirts will again be available for purchase at Eagle Point Hardware.
To become a volunteer, sponsor, or for further information on the various aspects of the celebration, call Bunny Lincoln (Fun Run, Fireworks & Vendor Booths) 541- 944-2446 and Suzi Collins (parade) 541- 324-0099.
