Fallen Tree Causes Hazard Along Rogue River

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office wants to encourage boaters and river users to use extreme caution along the Rogue River. Currently, about 100 yards below Sardine Creek near Gold Hill, a large tree has fallen over and is now blocking two-thirds of the Rogue River.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office along with assistance from the Oregon State Marine Board is currently working to remove the hazard, however due to the size of the tree; removal is taking longer than originally expected.

Anyone using that portion of the Rogue River is being asked to use extreme caution, wear a lifejacket, and try to stay as far away from the tree as possible.
