With the budget hearings in our past, the regular Board of Commissioner meeting returned back to its quiet demeanor. Only five items were on the agenda for deliberation and were unanimously approved.
Recology Ashland Sanitary Service, Inc in conjunction with the franchise agreement with the county was allowed to defer CPI increases to their customers from the contracted March date to May.
A two-year contract with Telos ID was authorized for the airport to comply with TSA regulations for vetting employees.
A contract for sex offender treatment services for juveniles and their parents with Marie Ann Wright was approved.
The final two items on the agenda revolve around mental health care in Jackson County. Asante was approved to deliver mental health services, which is an expense of nearly $1Million. Also approved was an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Oregon, reportedly not having any financial impact to our budget. The agreement is for tort liability for coverage for providers who have a contract in place with the State and provide supervision, care, treatment or training of persons under the jurisdiction of the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB). Jackson County currently provides treatment to individuals under the jurisdiction of the PSRB, and this will relieve Jackson County from purchasing coverage.
