Hala B. Marshall, 97, died May 23, 2013.
Hala was born Jan. 16, 1916 in Davidson, AR. to William “Will” and Annie Tibbits. Hala was one of nine children. She married Lester Marshall on Nov. 14, 1955 they moved to the Rogue Valley/Eagle Point area in 1935 where they lived on the home ranch until 1964 when they built a new home on additional property. Hala’s husband passed away in 1970 and she continued to live and maintain her house until she was 95. She moved in with son, Wayne after a fall and broken hip.
Hala was very active in the Grange and community service, and the Senior Center. She loved to bake and make things for local bazaars.
Hala worked for Little Butte Market and several restaurants in the Medford area. She was a homemaker and ran a foster home for teenage boys.
Hala is survived by her children, Darlene Colley and Wayne Marshall along with her sister, Lula Cochran.
A memorial service will be held at the Eagle Point Grange Hall on June 9, 2013 at 2pm. A graveside service will be on June 10, at 11 am in the Brownsboro Cemetery.
