Soaring with the Eagles

Troop 48 celebrates as another Eagle Scout soars to the top. Jesse Sattler, son of Eric and Sarti Powell, becomes the second Eagle Scout to attain this honor in his family and one of many to come out of Troop 48. Be sure to look for the new utility shed at the Eagle Point High School baseball complex designed and built by Jesse, not only to meet the requirements of his Eagle project, but to give back to a sport he has loved almost as much as scouting.

Jesse has been a member of both Pack and Troop 48 in Eagle Point, from Tiger all the way to Eagle, and has assisted with Christmas Tree Pickups, Avenue of Flags, Veteran’s Day Celebrations, Scouting for Food, and numerous Eagle Projects besides his own, all of which benefited our community. He attended National Scout Jamboree in 2010 in Virginia and got to tour many historical sites with scouts from all over the United States. With 37 merit badges on his sash, he knows he has tried new things, learned valuable skills, and made some lifelong friends.

Jesse graduated this year from Eagle Point High School and will be attending Linn-Benton Community College and Oregon State University to study Mechanical Engineering this fall. As an Eagle Scout we know he will “Do His Best” to “Be Prepared,” and we wish him the best of luck on his new adventure.
