James Sterling Granger Jr., 54 passed away in Odessa, TX., Aug. 15, 2013. He was born on May 5, 1959 in Santa Rosa, Calif. To James Sterling Granger Sr. and Bonnie Lou Daniels Granger.
James grew up in Southern Oregon. He graduated from Eagle Point High School in Eagle Point, OR. in 1977. After graduation he joined the US Navy in 1981, where he was a parachute rigger and a third class petty officer. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1985. James worked as a pump man, well tester, power plant operator and equipment operator.
James married Denise Rene Hackworth in 1985. From this marriage they had a son James Sterling Granger IV. In 2008 he moved from southern Oregon and drifted around the country. James later married Nina Talley.
James is survived by his father, Jim (Mary) Granger, of Shady Cove, OR, mother Bonnie Poythress, of Central Point, son, James (Vanessa) Grange of Traverse City, MI, siblings, Randy Granger, of Center Point, OR, Darell Granger, Portland, Terri (Greg) Egan, of Eagle Point, Ronald Poythress, Medford, Rick and Doug Valentine of North Pole, AL.
Services with military honors was held on August 30, 2013 at 11.00am at the Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
