Colleen Roberts of Prospect, owner of Sensational Sweets and Deli in Eagle Point has entered the race for Jackson County Commissioner. Roberts, who also ran during the last election cycle, has decided that it is time for Americans to stand up to big government and to stand for reason and transparency.
Roberts is a native of southern Oregon, a graduate of Walden University and the University of Phoenix. She graduated from Rogue River High School in 1974 and has been a business owner in the valley for many years.
Priorities for Roberts include following the constitution and the principles of liberty, freedom and person responsibility; a reduction in the salaries of all three commission positions as well as the county administrator and she wants to make the county government totally transparent.
Her campaign literature says she is a critical thinker who will speak for the people of the county. She says she will continue to be an out spoken advocate for the preservation of tax dollars, four our businesses families and the Constitution.
Roberts has been involved in the budget process in Prospect and has been a correspondent for the Independent for some time, reporting on Commissioner meetings.
