Digging Jacksonville: Archaeology Showcases Southern Oregon’s Chinese Heritage

Tales from the Collection is an on-going series of historical stories and talks presented at the SOHS History Center. At the January 23 Tales from the Collection event, Archaeologist Chelsea Rose presents SOHS objects and findings from Southern Oregon University’s archaeological digs to describe the daily life of Chinese workers in Jacksonville, Oregon, in the 1890s. Following the presentation, the SOHS library and archives will be open for free research. January 23, Admission: FREE! 106 N. Central Avenue, Medford.
